Natures Nurse - The Story
For Centuries, generation after generation, the Fijian Islanders have utilized the richness of Mother Earth and her bountiful supply of local, herbal plant-life to insure their families' wellness. Dr. Ted Anders, founder of the Nature's Nurse companies in Fiji and the United States, has been a proponent of natural supplemental support for total wellness. Based on experience with his youngest daughter, Natalie, who suffered with recurring head colds, sinus infections and resulting ear infections-- which led to ear-drum replacement surgery in 1996--- he decided to research the natural pharmacopeia of Fiji while on repeated business trips to Australia and New Zealand. His intention was to find powerful alternatives to the way we currently attempt to manage certain seasonal symptoms and on-going immune responses. Quite frankly, he went in search of herbals that could rapidly supplement our bodies' responses to symptoms often associated with sinus congestion, bronchial distress and related conditions. With the help of his business partner, Resina Koroi, and her family in Fiji, Dr. Anders was able to conduct extensive on-site anthropological, behavioral research to determine which herbs are used consistently throughout the islands for the targeted physical conditions. The result is the discovery of Fiji "Tea" - the local name children use for the tea their mothers and grandmothers brew for them from the root stems of the red mangrove trees. Resina remembers her grandmother brewing it for the children in her family during anytime during the year when they needed herbal supplements. Resina Koroi's family -descended from a line of Island chiefs--lives in the natural herbal traditions of the islands. Her mother, Irene, is a living wealth of information about caretaking families with native plants from her garden. The youngest of seven children, Resina's family couldn't afford to take the children to the doctor to get western pills for symptoms of common illnesses during the cold season. Instead her mother would wade into the ocean, cut a piece of local red mangrove, steep it in boiling water to make FIJI Tea and serve it to all the family members - to promote, facilitate, and support the body's natural ability to prevent, fight, and heal illness. Within two-three days, as consumed in traditional fashion, the children were healthy, happy, and playing joyfully. And just for good measure, her grandmother would have them drink a cup a day for several months to supplement their natural immune responses. Resina, a nurturing mother herself, does the same for her family today. She, Dr. Anders and their families, have worked in unity with the Tribal Elders of Fiji to secure 20 year exclusive rights to gently harvest the ingredients necessary to produce FIJI Tea from along miles of island coast. Their harvest practices are well researched and designed to strengthen the plants and ecosystem within which they grow. Now, through Nature's Nurse, the two families share and empower you with the gift Mother Nature has shared with the Fijian people for centuries. Peace and wellness to all. Enjoy! *Nature's Nurse is a spiritually driven and responsible company organized to help people discover the balance and power of earth's natural resources for healing and wellness. Everyone else was sleeping on the flight, and there he was. "He just wouldn't look-up, so I had to ask what he was doing," said Resina about the passenger on her flight to Australia. Dr Ted Anders, Behavioral Psychologist, author of "Customer Driven Leadership", and 'student' of alternative medicine and wellness, was preparing to meet with a client upon arrival in Australia. Well, after hours of conversation about the people, culture, and the abundant medicinal plant life in Fiji, a friendship was born and an invitation was made for Dr. Anders to meet Resina and her family in Fiji. In the following years, families met, relationships were nurtured, and anthropological research was conducted in village after village, island after island, asking mothers and grandmothers, "What would you do if someone displayed symptoms of colds, bronchial congestion, and related characteristics? Sometimes answers varied a bit, but there were clearly responses that were the same time-after-time. The women overwhelmingly recommended the use of "TiTi"" made from specific stems of Red Mangrove, known as Rhizophora. With acceptance and blessings from the Tribal Elders during customary and mandatory ceremony (that at one time if rejected would have resulted in death to those requesting approval), and with heart-felt desire to share the power of some of the healing practices and plants used by native Fijians' with others globally, Nature's Nurse Fiji, LTD and Nature's Nurse, Inc USA were both born. Dr. Anders recognized in Resina Koroi the entrepreneurial pioneering spirit and supported her in the formation of one of very few woman- owned businesses in a patriarchal tribal society. As a result of their plan, she is the majority stockholder of Nature's Nurse Fiji, LTD, and Dr. Ted Anders is majority stockholder of Nature's Nurse, Inc USA. Eric Baehr, a native of Boulder, Co, as well as a friend and colleague of Dr Anders, was invited to become a co-visionary, and as COO be responsible for creative development, operations, and global expansion. With it's core team in place, and with the assistance of area experts, mentors, guides, counselors' and Higher-spirit, Nature's Nurse conducts business in a manner intended to "Revive the Human Spirit for Power and Profit"--- using the powerful, entrepreneurial management techniques designed by Ted and presented in his business management book., "Customer Driven Leadership."
